Chinese Medical Massage (Tui Na) and Acupressure are modalities of manual tissue manipulation to return the body into homeostasis or balance. Massage and acupressure are used to address the imbalance and appropriately nourish, drain, tonify, or sedate and bring balance to the patients mind, body and spirit.
The Chinese believe that pain is caused by blockage of energy (qi) and/or blood. Because Chinese Massage (Tui Na) incorporates various techniques and pattern recognition, it is able to target therapeutic differences for each individual case. Acupressure is a way to enjoy the benefits of acupuncture without needles. Although acupuncture is always encouraged, acupressure is still an effective and non-invasive alternative for ages one to 100. This approach to healing has been utilized for over 2,500 years and continues to be successful across hospitals and centers all over the world.

Research on Fertility & Massage
Research on the benefits of massage for reducing stress is indicating a greater need for more studies specifically targeting the benefits of massage to enhance fertility. In a study published in the International Journal of Neurosciences (2004), researchers studied the effect of moderate, light or vibratory massage on stress levels by studying brain waves and heartbeat. All three groups reported decreased stress and anxiety, the largest drop being in the moderate pressure group. (1)
A group of gynecologist and physical therapists have also discovered a way to use massage techniques to remove blockages and reduce adhesions. It is estimated that adhesions are a contributing factor in nearly 40% of infertility cases. Preliminary research has also revealed a notable reversal in 75% of cases that showed tubal blockages. (2)
